It took me a while to write about Vegas post our trip, but only because it took me the same amount of time to recuperate from it.

Vegas, sin city, the city that never sleeps, is not for everyone, but, it was most certainly for my friends and I.

You see, Vegas, is the way you imagine heaven must look like at night. (Chuck Palahniuk in “Invisible Monsters”). It’s non-stop fun, whether nightclubs are for you or not, you find fun in everything you do there. From restaurants, to museums, to shows, to shopping… it’s just all around fun.

Day 1: Vegas started on a crisp Friday November morning. We were in such a hurry to get there that one of my friends even missed her flight. When we arrived, we checked into the hotel, got our rooms and slept. Yes, we slept, for 2 main reasons:

  1. We got up at the crack of dawn to catch our flight

  2. Most of us are about to hit (or just recently hit) our 40 year mark, so we needed our beauty rest

Once that was out of the way, we started our Vegas experience walking the strip. “The Strip” is an adventure in itself. The people, the promoters, the hotels, the casinos and the blocked off sidewalks, are all things you need to experience in Vegas. You only need to do it once, but do it!

Five minutes into the strip we see this, two cowboys promoting their show. see the baby in the stroller, this was all happening in plain day light.

When we realized how expensive food and drinks were, we stopped by CVS and purchased all kinds of goodies. Do this, your wallet will thank you.

We hurried back to our hotel to dress up and catch dinner reservations at Spago located at The Bellagio. My friend Jennifer was celebrating her birthday and we needed to celebrate her in style. The food and drinks were amazing, the service, not so much, but we still had a great time.

In advance to our trip, we purchased a club crawl pass. It’s where you pay $105 and get into 4-6 bars/clubs in 2 days and includes drinks. We were extremely disappointed with the package and the drinks, but it did get us into a top club that would have otherwise been expensive and difficult to get into, but, taking that into consideration, the pass still wasn’t worth it for me.

Luckly, since 6 sexy ladies walking the strip catches so much attention, a promoter put us on the list for Drais, a nightclub that was going to have Ozuna, a very popular Latin singer, perform live. That was our saving grace. We got in, partied, danced and enjoyed Ozuna’s private concert. #Winning!

After very gently carrying my friend home because she can’t handle her liquor, we woke up early and continued the party at 1pm. Yes, 1pm is when the longest time I’ve ever partied in my life, began.

Day 2: Lavo is a party brunch, and by party, I mean it in every aspect of the word. Imagine Club E11even (one of the hottest clubs in Miami – read about my Miami trip here) in the middle of the day. Neon lights, dancing on tables, drunk bodies everywhere, show girls and boys, the works. The brunch menu is amazing also and for a $500 minimum, you can reserve a table outside or inside the club. If you go with a group of people, considering the amount of food and drinks you get, this a good deal. Lavo’s party brunch only happens on Saturdays and reserving a table was worth every single hundred-dollar bill.

Ladies, Lavo has a table for just ladies, to drink and eat, for free, for 2 hours. Yes, all you do is find the ladies only table (it’s near the main door) and grab yourself anything to drink and eat that is on the table. (You’re welcome!)

Lavo closes at 6pm, so naturally, to kill sometime before dinner and another nightclub, we went shopping. Warning! Don’t ever go shopping drunk. It’s not highly recommended.

These are Valentinos, the real kind, the comfortable kind. The kind that you fall in-love with and make you take out your credit card kind. I did not buy them, but I was standing at the register holding them…..

After ordering room service, since shopping took much longer than expected, we continued the party at Marquee nightclub, located inside our hotel, The Cosmopolitan. By this time, my friends had split up, some went to bed and another went to a museum. I chose to go with the ones that wanted to party.

Marquee was amazing; there were two guest DJs (pretty famous I heard) and very, very interesting people. At around 1am, when we were feeling tired and ready to go back to the room, the girls that were sleeping got a second wind and met up with me at Marquee. The original group I was with left and I continued to party with my very relaxed and refreshed friends. I, for some reason unknown to me, got a fourth wind and continued to party till 7am. I blame it on the oxygen they pump in the clubs, but that day marked 18 hours of partying. A record in my book! That day, I got some sleep, not much, but some, because when you’re in Vegas, you suck it up and move on.

Day 3: We had an amazing steak dinner at STK, gambled a bit and won $90, hung out at the beautiful Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan, caught a late night show and ended the night at a Latin nightclub.

We purchased tickets to Absinthe, a very popular live show playing under the red top at the forecourt of Ceasars Palace. It’s a thrilling showcase of world-class artists who perform amazing feats of strength, balance, danger and unfathomable flexibility all combined with naughty (and sexy) humor. It’s a must see!

Last but not least, the three remaining survivors jumped in a cab and went to a Latin club off the strip. Yes, it’s safe to do this. The club was called La Jolla. The place itself was ok, but boy did they play amazing, old school, Latin music. If you’re looking for awesome Spanish music, go here, but take a partner to dance with because there weren’t very many options.

Day 4: At 1:30pm, I jumped on a plane back home with my body, my liver and my conscience thanking me.

There you have it, 4 days and 3 nights in Las Vegas that now seems like a blur. Definitely one of the best girls trip of my life.
